A very rare roll top desk - in fact the only one I have ever seen in this size. Selling from my own personal collection. This is not a "cut down" desk - it is original. All solid quarter-sawn oak with raised panels all around. Drawer fronts are veneered and drawers are not dove-tailed. Appears to be original pulls on drawers. Desk has been carefully refinished and is absolutely beautiful.
Tambour roll operates exactly as it should and has been re-canvassed for years of trouble free operation. Desk top pulls out as shown in photos, exposing a massive hidden compartment. Desk has a lock but no key. It is said that this desk was used by the American Red Cross in Pennsylvania and put in a model T truck when it went around the state for blood drives during WWI - More photos on request, and we will be happy to answer any additional questions. Sales to lower 48 only. We will be happy to cooperate with buyer on shipping arrangements. This item can ship Fedex.
