Rare Original early (C. 1900) Photograph of Bert Williams (1875-1922) performing, framed with a near mint C. 1909 Columbia recording of "My last dollar". He broke the color barriers in Vaudeville, Broadway and Movie directing. Egbert Austin Williams (1876-1922) is considered by many to be the greatest vaudeville performer in the history of the American stage. Bert Williams was the first Black Man to Star in a big time Vaudeville sketch. He starred in the Ziegfeld Follies (the top production of its kind in America), sharing the stage with W.C. Fields, Will Rogers, and Eddie Cantor. In 1916 he became the first Black director when he directed, wrote, and starred in "Natural Born-Gambler", based on a character he created in vaudeville. Photo approx 6.5"X7" cut from a scrap book. Professionally framed.
