Eames FSW-6 Prototype Rosewood Screen Made by Evans Products

Unavailable

This is a rare prototype FSW-6 screen in rosewood, by Charles and Ray Eames, and made by Evans Products in the 1940s. Canvas webbing and finish are original, and the overall condition is excellent. There is some fraying to the canvas edges, typical of screens of this age, and no tears or repairs to the canvas. There are a couple of small veneer chips to the edge. There are light scuffs, surface scratches and minor abrasions. There is some buildup to the surface from wax, furniture oil or polish, used over time. There are a couple of dark stains to the canvas in a small area near one end. The only time we are aware that Herman Miller produced and marketed the FSW6 in rosewood was in the 1990s, when they issued a limited edition of 500 screens. ( za- mid-century )
