A rare Boston and Sandwich EAPG lacy dish in the Paneled Rose and Thistle design #1102, circa 1840 - 1850. Dish measures 5 1/4" diameter, 1" high and has a sunflower in the center surrounded by 2 roses and 2 thistles with a circular rope edge. Dish is octagonal with a bold motif of 4 designs opposite each other; an open rose with leaves, 2 upright thistles, 4 petal blossom and scallop shells separated by smooth areas. Naturally there are chips and nicks on the scalloped edge that is commonly found on these antique Sandwich glass pieces. There is a crack that starts at the edge between a thistle and 4 petal panel and goes to bottom near shell panel. Crack is tight and not all that easy to see until dish is tipped toward light. 9 ounces
