Rare 4.75" Scarab-Form Chicago Crucible Art Pottery Vase

$685.00
Quantity available: 1
Wonderful antique arts & crafts vase from the Chicago Crucible Company; the vase carved with four scarab-forms symmetrically around its circumference. It is finished in a fantastic mottled green and ochre glaze intended to imitate patinated brass or bronze, its inspiration being neo-Egyptian like the Grueby scarab paperweights contemporary with this vase. The pot is in excellent original condition. It has two glaze chips at the foot that resulted when the pot was removed from the kiln shelf, as the glaze ran when it was fired and needed to be chiseled to get it free of the shelf.
