Quimper, French Faience Ink Well
Quimper is a town in northwestern France in the area known as Brittany; Quimper has been an active part of pottery production since the it was part of the Roman Empire. Faience is tin –glazed earthenware covered in enamel glaze that has been produced in France for over 300 years.
Quimper, French Faience Ink Well
This Quimper ink well has colorful simple floral patterns with a peasant sitting down playing his horn; the insert piece is in cobalt blue top, signature HB Quimper 797. These are such interesting collectibles and well sought after, this one make the perfect inexpensive gift for that Quimper Collector.
Condition: The illustrations are in good shape, blue insert rim has chips on top, lid is missing.
