Queen Size Victorian Bedroom Set

Check out his dramatic 2 piece Victorian bedroom set in the Renaissance Revival style.  The set consists of a full size bed, which can be easily adapted to standard queen size and a marble top dresser.  We will happily discuss how to convert the bed to queen size.  The bed measures 92” tall, 66” wide and 81” long.  The dresser measures 92” tall, 58” wide and 21.5” deep.  The bed and dresser may have had a finial on the very top of their crests which has long been gone.  This does not detract from its aesthetics.  The bed’s arched shaped headboard, 2 large deeply recessed panels, boldly carved elements and mouldings give it a commanding presence.  The arched and gently curved footboard measures 33.5” tall.  Notice its curvaceous recessed panel and bold carvings.  Now check out the side rails with the dramatic up sweep and incised carvings on one end.  The bed has an older professional repair on the right crest.  This is only noticeable if you stand up close and you are on your tip toes.  The finish appears original and is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina.  The marble top, drop center dresser repeats the bold and dramatic carvings found on the bed.  There are candle shelves on either side of the mirror.  Notice the shape of the marble on the raised ends.  The dresser has 4 small drawers over 2 long drawers.  Notice their shapely burled walnut panels on the drawer fronts and their fancy carved wooden key escutcheon.  All the drawers retain their original locks.  The bottom drawers have fancy cast brass and walnut tear drop pulls.  The dresser rests on its casters.  The mirror and marble are original.  The mirror has very slight hazing in some areas and the marble is in excellent condition.  The dresser appears to have its original finish which is in excellent condition.
