A PAIR OF MEISSEN SWEETMEAT FIGURES CIRCA 1880, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS, INCISED G80 AND 81, PAINTED AND IMPRESSED NUMERALS Modelled as a cook and his female companion, each seated between double shell sweetmeat dishes painted to the interior with flowers, he wearing a cloth hat, apron and purple flowered jacket, holding a saucepan in one hand and a spoon in the other, she wearing a loose bonnet, apron and striped skirts, holding a goose in her arms, the grassy shaped bases edged with scrollwork heightened in puce, turquoise and gilding (she with restored goose neck and he with a neck repair and bowl chip restored.) 10 in. wide (2)
