PUPPY DOG CREAMER JAPAN

Unavailable
Our lovely puppydog creamer is black and gray and white with long black ears – his long tail forms the creamer’s handle. He’s about 4-1/2” tall and about 4-1/2” long and he’s marked “JAPAN” on his bottom. According to my research, and information in Made In Japan Ceramics – Book II by Carol Bess White, the markings “JAPAN” and “MADE IN JAPAN” were both used prior to WWII. So you must judge for yourself by the look of the mark (she showed many of them) and the look of the item (does it look modern?) whether puppy is pre-WWII or not. After looking at several ‘Made In Japan’ books, comparing his mark and look, I feel he was made before WWII. Of course if, after you receive him, you’re not happy – for any reason - you may return him, and we’ll be happy to refund your purchase price.

Except for the usual crazing that seems to accompany these older, originally inexpensive ceramics, and a very small chip (a little larger than the head of a pin) on the base of his left paw that is nearly invisible (see photos)), he’s a perfect little puppy. And, yes - he’s housebroken!
