Primitive Anitque Fegal Brunelles Farm Scale
The tower measures 22” and the entire length of the piece is 33 ½” long.
The balance of the scale that is meant to hold the weights swings freely and detaches from the cast iron hook. The graceful iron braces that hold the wooden platform rigid are very attractive.
Attached to the lesser wooden tower is a plumb bob. It swings like a pendulum and is meant to insure that the scale is set on a level surface.
Located on one side of the scale there is a handle associated with the balance arm that when cranked into place it locks the mechanisms in place.
Though this scale was made as a utilitarian item, aesthetically pleasing.
The condition other than being a primitive is great. It looks like the iron parts have been repainted but I don't know how recent that was done. The metal platform screw have been replaced by Phillips screws.
It does not come with the weights.
