Art Deco style Ivorine and wood veneer jewel box with miniature portrait set in the lid. The top of the box has ivorine pieces radiate out from the brass framed portrait. The box has an exaggerated horizontal profile. And the light and dark contrast of the ivorine and veneer characterize the glamorous Art Moderne look. The box stands on 4 brass deco style beehive feet. The inside is lined with wine red velvet.
We do not recognize the tune the box plays. The music box movement is sealed and may possibly be Swiss.

Circa 1920's to 1940's

MEASURES: approx. 6-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches.

Very Good overall condition. There are some stains on the lid and front panel of box, as shown in photo. The camera flash distorts the color of the ivorine. Top, sides and interior are all of uniform color. No chips, dings or repairs found.
