This is a German made late Victorian spill vase, or mantle vase with a flatback with a portrait of a young girl with a straw hat. The late Victorian garniture vase is blue and white with art nouveau styled leases that were one heavily gilded. The vase measures 7 inches high by 6.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep. The spill vase was put on the mantle and was used to hold rolled paper spills to light the fire. This spill vase is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, but has only vestiges left of the gold that once decorated it.
