Peter and Charles Porter Kimball of Portland, Maine created the first Portland Cutter sled in the 1800’s and the company made sleighs in their Chicago location through the early 1900’s This style is well known for its sharp curves and its open sleigh design they are highly desirable today.
This is a great classic sled in the Portland Cutter Style in red and black with trim, a yellow painted step up and metal shaves. This sleigh is well-constructed in wood and metal with an upholstered seat for two in newer red velvet.
Grab your warm coat, hat and gloves there is still plenty of time to go dashing though the snow in this one horse open sleigh
Measurments: 54 Tall x 39” Wide x 160 long with the harness
Condition: Good for the age, there are typical marks, nicks,chips and wear a crack line in wood on foot rest to the paint as you would expect, some seperation of the wood see phoots on the front there is a number 18 that was painted over.
