A reclining lounge chair with an arched steel frame painted black and upholstered in black leather. It was designed by Ferdinand A. Porsche in 1984 and manufactured by Interprofil in Germany. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of the original founder of the Porsche company, was the one who designed the Porsche 911, a car which not only become a design classic but also went on to typify just what a sports car really is.
The IP 84S lounge chair is considered a classic in the world of design and reflects the unique philosophy of the Porsche design studio. In 1985, this unusual chair was awarded the Deutsche Auswahl Award for design excellence and innovation.
