Pexto Ratchet Brace Cocobolo Handles

Unavailable

This is a nice clean useable 9" swing ratchet brace made and marked "PEXTO MADE IN USA" on the handle arm, also marked "U.S.A." on the chuck arm.  A Pexto brace without any model number marked on it is a rather rare, as is the fact that the measurement from the center of the chuck to the center of the swing handle is 4.5" or a 9" sweep/swing.
The PEXTO logo is that of Peck Stow & Wilcox Co., a well known, respected tool maker in the early 1900's.
This brace features nice, cocobolo handles that are in nice condition, with only minor wear, mainly tiny dings, no cracks, very well attached. The finish on the metal surfaces is also good, no rust, some minor pitting or nickel plating loss, and a few other small areas of pitting, but less than 5% of the total metal surfaces are pitted, otherwise clean and shiney, some darkening of the bare metal. The ratchet system is working fine. This is one of Peck, Stow and Wilcox Co.'s better ratchet braces, with ball bearing head drive, very nice two jaw chuck, very heavy duty on both the chuck and the ratchet system. The chuck works perfectly, as well as the ratchet. A nice antique brace in great working condition. Truly a pleasure to use!
