This is an absolutely amazing period Louis XV Vaisselier Bressan (Hutch for vessels and storage) from France, Circa 1750. It has been made with European Walnut wood, Burled Walnut Wood and European Chestnut wood. The ornamentation has all been hand carved out of the wood, not applied. The size of this vaisselier is rare, as most of the Vaisselier Bressan pieces are much wider. These pieces, from the Eastern side of France, are characterized by a clock with pendulum being placed in the center portion of the top. The clock is in good working order and is of the period. It is hand forged bronze and has the Royal Crest at the top center with the French rooster sitting upon the triple fleur de lys. On either side are birds and trailing foliage. Insets of burled walnut are on all of the shaped interior panels on the front of the piece. The surrounding ornamented wood is chestnut wood. All of the ornamentation is completely hand carved and features c and s-scrolls, shells, fleur de lys, florets and scrolling foliage. The two front feet are scrolled and the two back feet are block, typical of 18th C. pieces. The patina is deep and very rich on this wonderful Vaisselier Bressan from the Louis XV Period.
