Made by mid 20th century New Zealand company Ataahua, this unusual pendant is paua shell with paua shell kiwi bird, all mounted in sterling silver, with a sterling silver chain. Ataahua were active around mid 20th century (not be to confused with the company of the same name trading today). Their work was good quality silver and paua New Zealand jewellery, using the Bee symbol as their mark. Pendant measures 30 mm by 26 mm (1.1/8 inches by 1 inch). Chain is 43 cm long (17 inches). Excellent condition.
