Lovely matched pair of hand painted Victorian scenic cabinet plates. They are both artist signed on the back but I am not able to make out the signature (see photos). Each plate has a blue and gilt border with three separate scenes painted along the rim an attractive and unusual feature. We believe these are made by Sevres. The buliding on the right is also shown on a plate on page 158 of Hand Painted Porcelain PLates by Richard Rendall and Elise Abrams. A great pair of cabinet plates!
