Pair of Platinum Ground Paris Porcelain Armorial Vases Retailed by Bailey Banks & Biddle

Unavailable

This pair of porcelain vases feature platinum grounds, gilding and full figure painted portraits of aristocratic French men in renaissance attire, with unique coats of armor depicted on the rear. They date from the 1880s and were retailed in Philadelphia by Bailey Banks and Biddle. Quality of the painting is exceptional and their condition is excellent. There is only modest wear to the gilding, a couple shallow chips from the rim including a restored chip, and a couple small hairlines seen on the underside of one vase. Additional images forwarded upon request.
