Pair French Empire Style Marble and Bronze Torchere Floor Lamps
This matching pair of torcheres are crafted from white marble and gilt bronze, and feature classical motifs including wreaths, swags, urns, acanthus leaves, ram heads and raised animal paw feet, in the style of Charles Percier and Pierre Francois Leonard Fontaine. They date from the early 20th century and contain old sockets and on/off chain below the frosted glass globes. Most of the mounts have been regilded, and our images show both before and after gilding. About half of the beaded mounts in the fluting are missing. We will be happy to add new wiring as needed prior to shipment for an additional fee. Each measures 49" (124.5 cm) tall.
