Pair of Neoclassical Obsidian Stone & Bronze Table Lamps

Unavailable

Included here is a matching pair of modern table lamps crafted from black obsidian stone with gilt brass and bronze mounts. They have a neoclassical urn form set upon tall plinth pedestals, and feature lion mask mounts at the shoulder from which graceful handles extend toward the top. A stylized flower and acanthus leaf motif decorates the lower third. Since our photographs were taken, the lamps have been mounted with long brass upright stem and brass sockets.  Condition is excellent. There are no chips or visible scratches, and the quality of the stone is exceptional. Their color is a consistent black with almost no imperfections. Their understated design with compliment not only eighteenth century classical decors (such as English Georgian and French Louis XVI), but will also look right at home in a French mid-century setting and some modern decors as well. Additional images forwarded upon request.
