Beautiful pair of Garden of Versailles hand colored engravings after Jacques RIGAUD (1681- 1754) printed in London for Robt. Wilkinson (publishers), 58 Cornhill ca. 18th Century. Both are elegantly framed in gilt frames with orange silk mats. Descriptive text in both English and French appears below each of the two images. No. 5. The Royal Island in the Garden of Versailles. P. Angier Sculp. No. 6. The Theatre of Water in the Garden of Versailles. T. Couse Sculp. (a similar print is part of the print collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London). In very good used condition with toning, spots, foxing, paper tears and imperfections as shown. Photographed through glass which explains reflections. Shipped fully insured with tracking number.
