This is a gorgeous pair of Empire style walnut and rosewood pedestals with "rosso antico " marble tops, marble down the four corners and exquisite ormolu mounts. These pedestals are sure to become the centrepiece of your antique furniture collection and will get noticed wherever they are placed.

These are wonderful pedestals for displaying your bronzes, marble statues or porcelain vases.

They were inspired by the Empire style. The Empire style was popular in the courts of Europe (especially Russia and France) at the turn of the 19th Century. The furniture was characterised by symmetry of design and pedestals were very much in vogue. It was frequently embellished with ormolu or brass mounts.
