Pair of Antique Viennese Porcelain Portrait Plaques by Pirkner

These framed portrait plaques depicting elegant young women are signed "J Pirkner" and date from the mid to late nineteenth century. They reside in period giltwood and gesso frames which are in good condition. There are a few minor gesso losses. There is some inpainting noticeable to the fur jacket of the female pictured on the right. There are no visible cracks or losses. Each carries the Vienna shield ( beehive ) mark in blue, and each is signed on verso F. Rufs. Frames measure 23.6" wide and tall and 2" deep. Additional images forwarded upon request. ( hantiques )
