Pair Jacob Petit Porcelain Pedestals & Decanters

Unavailable

Included here is a pair of nineteenth century porcelain stands by Jacob Petit, and pair of complimentary porcelain decanters. Pedestals each measure 8.5" by 8" by 2.5" and the pair weighs 4 lbs. 5 oz. Each has a few short firing cracks, and one has losses at each of the lion masks on each side. Each carries the familiar Jacob Petit blue mark under glaze on the underside. The decanters date from the nineteenth century and are unmarked aside from red numerals on the undersides. They feature hand-painted enamel and gilded decoration. Possibly by Jacob Petit. Each measures 7.25" high, 5" wide and 2.75" deep. Each are in excellent condition. Only known flaws are a chip to the base of one stopper, and a flake chip from the upper right side on the rear of one decanter. Their scenes depict a father and child while fishing, and a gentleman and lady in the countryside, all in the eighteenth century style. Additional images forwarded upon request.
