Pair French Military Helmet Table Lamps

Unavailable
Included here is a pair of early to mid-century table lamps crafted from authentic French military helmets made from brass, leather and horse hair. Helmets are those of the French Cuirassier (calvary) and are believed to date from the French Second Empire (1848-1870). Each lamp measures 29" by 11" by 7.5" and weighs an estimated 6-8 lbs. Wooden plinth bases measure 6" by 4" by 6" and contain a round on/off switch. Original solid brass lamp hardware is complete, including round finials and two sockets per lamp. Each lamp is in fine working order. Bulb sockets are siezed in place, but can likely be loosened with use of an appropriate lubricant. These lamps reside in our client's gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (New York City) and may be seen in person by appointment.
