Pair Chinese Pagoda Porcelain Nodders from Ernst Bohne Sohne

This pair of antique (late 19th century) porcelain pagoda figure nodders come from the firm of Ernst Bohne Sohne of Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany. Height, width and depth:  9 x 8 x 8 in; 23 x 20 x 20 cm.  Each is in good condition, with nodding heads, rocking hands and tongues.  There are signs of inpainting on two hands.  Each carries the blue anchor mark of the firm.  The firm was founded in 1848 by the porcelain painter, Ernst Bohne, and built their first kiln in 1850.  Following his deather in 1856, the firm was managed by his three sons. The firm was sold to Heubach Brothers in 1919 and operated as a division of the firm until 1930 when the Rudolstadt factory was closed.  Items sold as-is.
