Pair Antique Paris Porcelain Wine Coolers

Unavailable

Our lovely pair of Paris porcelain wine coolers date from the third quarter of the 19th century, and feature painted groups of putti at play on front, and one features the image of a firepot on reverse, symbolizing winter, while the other depicts Dionysus, symbolizing autumn.  Each 7.75 in tall and 8.25 in across. Condition of each is good. There is rubbing and wear to the gilding and painted surfaces, scratches and small nicks, all consistent with age. One has the remnants of a very old paper label with the original retailer's name and address, no longer decipherable. Paintings are unsigned and the undersides have two impressed marks: a stylized "M" and three digit number. There are also a couple identifying labels applied by our client and some label residue we will remove.
