Pair Antique Louis XV Style Chinese Blue Porcelain & Bronze Table Lamps

Unavailable

Included here is a matching pair of antique (nineteenth century), Chinese powder blue porcelain vases in the Kangxi period style, with dore bronze foliate mounts, made into lamps in the early twentieth century. Their ornamentation is strictly organic in the manner of French Louis XV. The urns have a tapered form with knopped lid and pierced foliate mounts including rocaille lip and ruffle shaped feet. Each has two sockets and there are no finials. Each measures 17" tall and 10.5" across. There is no internal wiring, but we can wire for a modest fee. These lamps appear identical to a single, French, ormolu-mounted vase scheduled for sale by Christie's in New York on April 16, 2009 in lot 133, at an estimate of $6,000-$8,000.
