Pair Antique Paris Porcelain Vases in the Aesthetic Style

Unavailable

This pair of antique (19th century) rectangular porcelain vases in the Aesthetic fashion, likely from Paris, feature reticulated necks, gilded handles terminating in serpent heads, and enamel painted flowers, birds and insects on a black glazed ground. Condition is very good. There are no visible cracks and a small chip from the edge of the foot of one vase.  There is obvious wear to the gilding, consistent with age. Each measures 13.5" tall, 9.5" wide and 4.5" deep. Each carries three small impressed marks which have not been deciphered. ( Japanese Oriental )
