Pair Antique French Empire Revival Torcheres Floor Candelabra

Unavailable

This pair of wonderful torcheres in the French Empire style date from the 1890s to 1900s, and feature newly regilt candelabra with five candle arms, set upon patinated neoclassical robed figures standing on rounded bun pedestals marked "DAVID" (referencing Jacques-Louis David, 1748-1825, the neoclassical painter and contributor to the French Empire style), and mounted on wooden pedestals with newly refinished with what appears to be mahogany and kingwood veneer, and its original bronze mounts.  Measures:  88" x 18" x 18".  Condition is good.  There are cracks to the veneer, and noticeable  scratches and dents to the veneer, and to the polished bronze mounts, consistent with age. Each candle arm shows remnants of filler beneath the mask, likely due to old wiring. Parts of the gilt bronze beading on each torchiere has been replaced.
