This ornately carved marble top table is attributed to Thomas Brooks of New York, a premier cabinetmaker in the Victorian period. The original marble has an ogee moulded edge and is in excellent condition. The table has a deeply carved frame or skirt supporting the marble. The gutsy looking base has a central carved pedestal with 4 attached legs. The legs are boldly and deeply carved and resting on their brass and wooden casters. The table frame is extremely sturdy, having no breaks or repairs. The finish is in excellent condition.
