Outstanding and Gorgeous Bronze Mantel Clock!

We were lucky to acquire it from a lovely Private estate in the South of France near Cannes!The clock dates from the second quarter of the 19th C. (c.1840).The style of this marvelous mantel clock is Empire and the bronze gilt is in excellent condition.The other parts of the clock are bronze with an original and beautiful brown and dark green patina.Good running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell.The movement is driving on a Silk suspension !!The porcelain dial with the black Roman numerals and steel hands are fantastic!The dial is signed with " Hodel a Strassbourg ".
