We were lucky to acquire it from a lovely Private estate in the South of France near Cannes!The clock dates from the second quarter of the 19th C. (c.1840).The style of this marvelous mantel clock is Empire and the bronze gilt is in excellent condition.The other parts of the clock are bronze with an original and beautiful brown and dark green patina.Good running and striking condition with 8 days going work and the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell.The movement is driving on a Silk suspension !!The porcelain dial with the black Roman numerals and steel hands are fantastic!The dial is signed with " Hodel a Strassbourg ". Frederic Hodel was a very famous clockmaker in France at that time.On top of the clock is a representation of a man who comes back from hunting and is welcomed by his wife.This mantel clock is everywhere, and on every chimney or board an absolutely eye catcher, and a real collector piece that you will never get again.The dimensions are: Height: 17 Inches ,Width: 12 Inches and Depth: 4 Inches.No matter where you place this fantastic mantel clock everyone will be begging to know where you got such an outstanding clock and where they can get one like it!Regarding shipping we will pack the clock in a wooden box so you will receive it without any damage.SHIPPING COSTS TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS ARE FREE !!
