Oscar Yosef de Kerdsmont Socec (Swiss Act. 1900) Oil on Board depicting Adolfsturm, Frieberg Germany. Note: Socec painted extensively in Europe in the 1900?s, he lived on the island of Capri, in Switzerland for several years and in Paris where he studied at the Beaux Arts Academy under such masters as Edward Sain and Carolus Durand. Mr. Socec retired to Augusta, Maine and worked from a studio at his son?s home. He frequently exhibited during this period in Boothbay Harbor, Maine.
