This poster was issued the week before the launching of Yuri Gregarin into space - the poster is dated 15th April 1961, and the launch was on the 22nd. This lovely, unlined poster is in very good condition - folds are apparent but poster is vibrant, intact and otherwise remarkably well-preserved. The text reads "Glory to the Fatherland of heros". From the private collection of a recent emigre. We love posters like this one which give us a glimpse into another culture, another social reality, and a political history which has played such a significant role in shaping the lives of millions.
