Description Date: 1976 Size: 21 x 29.5 Notes: Poster Artist: Toulouse-Lautrec, Henri (after) About The Poster: An exhibition poster showcasing the works of Toulouse Lautrec at the Grand Palais' Salon D'Automne. The Grand Palais is a large historic site, exhibition hall, and museum complex located in the Champs-Elysees in Paris. The structure was built in the Beaux-Arts architecture style for the Exposition Universelle of 1900. The exterior of the massive palace combines a Classical stone facade with Art Nouveau iron work. The grand inauguration took place May 1st, 1900 and from the very beginning the palace was the site of different kinds of shows in addition to the intended art exhibitions. The poster is unlined, measures 21 x 29.5 inches, and is in very good condition. Toulouse Lautrec was a colorful man who had enormous impact on the world of painting, posters, and art. His unique view point documented the demi mondaines of Montmartre, the cabaret life of the Moulin Rouge, and society both high and low. Some of his posters fetch upwards of $100,000 at auctions.
