This large pictorial desk reference: ORIENTAL CERAMIC ART by Stephen W. Bushell, a reprint, contains every word and every picture of the original 10-volume set published in 1896, includes major emphasis on Chinese, but has sections on Korean and Japanese wares. Illustrations come from collection of W.T. Walters. Although dated, this is an important reference for Qing ceramics, and valuable translations of passages from Chinese texts. Bushell was the great pioneer. 116 Plates in Color and Over 400 Plates in Black and White. 429 (+ 9) pages. ISBN#: 051752581X Hardcover. Published by New York Crown Publishers in 1980. Hardcover: Blue cloth binding with title on cover and spine impressed in gold. Nice tight binding; cover, spine, and pages clean and intact. Gently used and neatly stored. Sun fading along top of hard cover. Solid color endpapers (dark beige) are spotless. The inside contents are very good, with exquisite custom illustrations. Photo illustrated dust jacket is worn with some fraying at top, five minor tears to edge 1.0 inches or less along the front spine repaired with tape, wear to edges.
