Oleite Shoe Polish Tin

Unavailable
Vintage 2 1/2" diameter full tin of "Oleite of Iron" shoe polish. This is an early one. They started putting shoe polish in cans around the turn of the century and this is from that time period. All sorts of wonderful writing on it. Says "contains no lampblack, turpentine, or acid" "Absolutely Waterproof" "A wonderful preparation for softening, preserving, and dressing" "Gives new life to old shoes" etc. etc. These are really nice. They are unused and in excellent condition for their age, but show some slight signs of aging here and there. It's shocking that they survived this long. American Oleite was out of St. Louis, MO. These are old stock that was found in a store way up in the northwest. Small quantity.
