Beautiful production of an early Shirvan design Kazak rug,woven in Caucasus mountain, southwest Caucasian, size 4.10x 5.6, What a riot of imagination lies in a small prayer rug!. Against a pale green ground is contrasted a motifs resembling a tree-of-life, the lower part of rug shows a medallion containing an animal fight scene. The yellow corner piece of the mehrab are filled with fruit and leaves,whilst in the lower part of the rug mythical animals, mounted elephants alternate with geometrical leaf motifs. The border ,too,accentuated the one-way structure of the little piece. The finest wool and tightest weave have been used for this rug. This rug is in excellent condition with high pile throughout,kpsi of 8x11 on pile green field.
