We believe this is a mail holder that fastens onto a desk. It is made of ORNATE stamped BRASS. It measures approximately 6 1/8" x 1 5/8". There is a hole for mounting on each end. The metal spring is securely in place. Some of the coils are bent. The metal plate is nice and straight. This unusual piece is in good used condition. It could be used in a variety of ways. This would be a desirable addition to your antique collectibles.
