Here is a very well built clock shelf made of solid oak about 1890.  The top and backsplash  have a serpentine shape with a center cutout to give these shelves a very graceful look.  The front edge of the shelf and the backsplash have a very stylish molded edge.  The construction is excellent using 7/8 inch thick solid oak.  This shelf is priced at $215.  A pair of matching shelves is available at two times the price.
