This solid quarter sawn oak counter would make an excellent bar or kitchen island. The thick beveled edged top rests over a deep skirt with incised carvings. The front has large finely turned fluted columns with a decorative recessed panel between them. Notice the deeply recessed panels on the sides and massive mouldings on the base of the cabinet. The counter is extremely well made and commanding in its presence. The open back has 2 small, narrow drawers with wooden pulls. Below is a single shelf which was added later. The piece can be easily adapted to add additional drawers or shelving. What a great small size which can serve a variety of purposes. The finish is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina. Its construction is stout and desi8gned to take use and abuse.
