Antique Unger Brothers Brooch signed circa 1890's sterling silver fleur de lis iris

Unavailable

What a rare treat to see this double signed Unger Bros Brooch that is in sterling relief. SInce the Iris was the origination of the Fleur de lis, this would have been a very popular piece in its time. Unfortunately I have never seen another one like it so they must have either been kept in collections or misplaced and lost never to be found again.  This dates in the late 1800's . KNown for some of the most fabulous art nouveau pieces, Unger bros. were one of  the first to start the trend of maidens in metal. Soon Gorham and other companies followed in their foot steps. This lovely Iris brooch is not only signed with the early Unger bros mark but also has the jeweler who must have at one time cleaned and maintained this . Obviously a treasure to someone that received it to be that taken care of. This measures 1" and is in great uncleaned condition.    VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our Etsy pieces regardless of which site it comes from. All layaway payments will need to be in the form of a check or money order only.  Please remember that vintage & antique items are not mint, nor are they perfect but they sure are full of old history and charm.
