Authentic Antique 18th -19th century finely painted on cloth Tibetan Tangka – Thanka of Chenrezig -Avalokiteshvara - Buddha of Compassion.
DETAILS: The white-skinned deity seated on the throne, dressed in a dhoti and adorned with ribbons and jewelry, backed by a nimbus and aureole, amidst a landscape with water and mountains surrounded by four lamas and two Buddha’s.
CONDITION: In its original condition, free of repairs or restorations, with an old patina and wear, flakes in the paint some crazing throughout.
DIMENSIONS: 67.3 cm x 48 cm (26 1/2 in x 19 in).
This Tangka was recently acquired from an old Canadian collection of Oriental Art which includes textiles, and related items, that we are in the process of photographing and placing for sale for the first time.
