Antique Solid Pine Settle Table
This American Antique Solid Pine Settle Table, circa 1860, combines the functions of a table, chest or storage bin and chair. Back in the days the settle table was used as a table to serve meals and after dining it was converted to a chair and normally placed next to the hearth. In addition to creating a place to rest, the expansive back/top of the settle table also provided some shielding from the drafts of early American homes. Constructed out of solid pine, the settle table has the original hand forged brass hinges, and converts from a storage bench into a table. The Antique Solid Pine Settle Table measures, 29.50 inches H X 46.00 inches W X 30.75 inches D with the back down and, and in the bench position measures, 46.75 inches H X 46.00 inches W X 18.00 inches D.
