Here is a beautiful antique Rococo style frame with a print from Fashion Illustrated Journal dated 1989. The frame is wood and has very ornate scroll work in gesso. The outer frame is soft gold while the inner part is soft bronze with a red velvet insert in the wood of the frame. The corners are nice and tight and the overall condition of the frame is great. There are a few chips along the edges and corners but nothing unusual for a frame this old. The print appears to be a page or possibly a cover from LaMode Illustree Bureaux du Journal (Fashion Illustrated Journal – Paris) and it bears a signature Cholet (I assume this is the illustrator). The print is in great condition, it shows two ladies in beautiful Victorian style gowns. The back of the frame is labeled with all the information about the print. It reads: “LaMode Illustree Bureaux du Journal. 56.rue Jacob. Paris Toilettes de Mmes Coussinet et L. Piret. Rue Richer. 43. “Royal Ceillet” Derniere Creation De La Parfumerie Oriza De L. Legrand, Palace De La Madeleine, Il Novembre 1898-No 46”. I do not know the maker or exact date the frame was made. This frame and print are antique and may not be perfect. This frame measures 21 ½ inches tall, 19 5/8 inches side to side and 2 ½ inches front to back. It weighs 6 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested
