Antique Onyx & Gilt Bronze Neoclassical Louis XV Style Mantle Clock

Unavailable

This delightful and unusual mantle clock in the Louis XV style features a case of onyx stone and gilt metal mounts.  It was retailed in the early 20th century by Shreve Crump and Low of Boston.  Founded in 1796, the firm is the oldest purveyor of jewelry and luxury items in the U.S., and still in business today.  The clock has a B2 electric movement from Warren Telechron that dates from the mid 1920s to early 1930s, and may or may not be original to the clock.  The movement is not in working order, but could be repaired or simply replaced with a new electric movement.
