This exceptional antique garniture from the Greek Revival period of the late 19th century features a mantel clock with bronze face, arms and Roman numerals, set within a slate stone frame decorated with silvered bronze Corinthian columns, set upon a plinth decorated with silvered bronze frieze depicting Greek soldiers and citizens, and is surmounted by an upper frieze depicting a fierce battle with the Greek god, Zeus, looking down from above. The clock is accompanied by matching vases with similar decorations in high relief.  Clock height, width and depth:  22.5 x 17 x 9.75 in; 57 x 43 x 25 cm.  Clock maker and retailer are unknown.
