ANtique Medic Box Sterilizer Burner that has saved lives
This antique tiny box was used to help sew up soldiers on the battlefield and was a necessity for medics and doctor's in the service. The small hinged box only measures 2 3/4" tall and it has so much inside that is hard to believe what all this does. Inside is a smaller box that held alcohol or kerosene that lit the wick at the top. This would create a flame under this tiny trough at the top that would sterilize the needles used to sew up troops and help save lives. Not only is this a great piece of medical history, but also military. We got this from a family of doctors up in NY and they had ancestors that served in WW1 and WW11. What a great heirloom with such fantastic Karma attached to it!. This would be great for doctors to have in their antique medical cabinets with all the old medical instruments. This is made of tin and has some rust at the top. Probably from all the bad weather the troops had to endure. The bottom reads : USA M.D. Pioneer New York.NY
