Lovely "Persian Ware" floral design transfer printed and handpainted under a clear glaze from Maw & Co., Broseley Salop, c. 1883, showing the influence of Iznick pottery on Aesthetic designers of the time and in the style of William Morris's designs. The tile is from the Kenneth Beaulah collection and is illustrated on p. 154 of 1000 Tile, edited by Gordon Lang. It is in excellent/ very good condition with some slight wear/nibbles around the edges.
